           ). The big takeaway: consulting as we know it is facing an existential crisis. As a Big 4 consultant, and current consulting business owner - what does this mean when AI disrupts me?

           McKinsey is deploying bots to write reports, summarize interviews, and build decks. They’ve cut more than 10% of their workforce in the last two years and 40% of their revenue is AI and related technology. And they’re not alone—every big firm is feeling the same pressure.

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           As someone who spent a decade at Deloitte and now co-owns a consulting firm, here’s my take: AI is reshaping the very foundation of our industry.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Five years ago, if a client wanted to know where to build a new IT help desk, or some market sentiment research that might have been a multi-week, $30K consulting project. Today, a well-crafted prompt can get you 70–80% of the answer in minutes. That’s the work junior consultants and offshore teams used to do—and AI is doing it faster, cheaper, and often better.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Those 25-person change management projects? They can be much leaner now with AI drafting comms, analyzing survey data, and recommending actions. The longer duration project can be done at a faster pace and doesn't require as many 40+ hour per week consultants that hurts billable hours for the Big 4. At

           Connecting strategy with execution starts and ends with people. To execute well, we must Create Clarity and Buy-in, Focus Execution, and Establish a Rhythm for Accountability. Dos and Don’ts for each of these areas are listed below.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Things to do are interdependent and complementary. If you are doing some of these but not others, expect additional friction in the execution or suboptimal performance. The ‘don’ts’ are derailers and are more common than we would like to admit.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           CREATE CLARITY AND BUY-IN
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           DO
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ol&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Engage subordinate leaders in strategy development:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Connecting strategy with execution starts with leveraging the ‘collective genius’ of the organization to develop the strategy. Engage appropriate levels of the organization in developing the strategy to incorporate different perspectives and intelligence.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Create clarity with concise and repetitive communication:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             A well-developed strategy allows leaders to clearly articulate the objectives and measures of success. Make sure the people who are executing understand the importance and prioritize their effort to execute in their roles most efficiently. Use cascading messaging to communicate throughout the organization.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Count the cost and commit the appropriate resources:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The strategy may need to be adjusted to match the resources of the company. You may need to move people around, add or improve skill sets, introduce new technology, or change the way you are doing business. If the strategy requires significant change, understand your people’s capacity for change.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ol&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           DON’T
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ol&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Create strategy in a vacuum:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Probability for success will increase with improved knowledge and by considering varying perspectives.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Assume people know or understand the strategy:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Just because a strategy has been devised and discussed at various levels, one cannot assume the people who need to execute the strategy know or understand it. Even if you have presented the strategy a couple of times, it may take more discussions for people to ‘get it.’ Reinforce the understanding of the strategy and revisit frequently with clear and concise communication.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Expect success without effort or cost:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            This is common – we have a million-dollar strategy requiring a hundred people to be executed in 6 months funded with a half-million dollars and staffed with 25 people that will realistically take a year.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ol&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           FOCUS EXECUTION
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           DO
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ol&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Decentralize planning, execution, and decision-making.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The direction is set and now the people must execute. Encourage, equip, and empower people to create plans and execute the strategy. This does not necessarily mean that there is no command and control, approval requirements, structure, or feedback mechanisms. Ensure those who are closest to the action and have the best view of the situation can do what is necessary to execute the strategy.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Understand the current condition:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            We may know where we want to go, but it will be difficult to chart a course if we do not know where we are presently. Make sure there is a realistic assessment of the current condition prior to execution. Though this may take additional time, it is a necessary step and will result in a more informed approach. As the team executes, routinely reassess the current condition.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Enable accountability – require action plans with well-defined measures and outcomes:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Commitment is required for accountability by individuals, teams, and leaders. People need to be able to effectively measure the results of their efforts as well as the activity that leads to the results. People and teams must make a commitment and then be accountable for the execution.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ol&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           DON’T
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ol&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Overcommit your resources:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             This goes along with the theme of focus. People generally only do one thing at a time very well. Do not saddle people with conflicting or extraneous initiatives or bog them down with unproductive work.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Create unnecessary complexity:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Simple scales and complex fails. Keep the execution as simple as possible to eliminate wasted effort, confusion, or conflict.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Reject feedback from those executing the strategy:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Just because we do not want to hear something does not mean it is wrong. Accept reality and then deal with it.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ol&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            ﻿
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           ESTABLISH A RHYTHM FOR ACCOUNTABILITY
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           DO
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ol&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Create a scorecard and review routinely. Drive focus with a rhythm for accountability at each level of the organization:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Establish the appropriate rhythm for reviewing activities and results. The rhythm may be quarterly or monthly at senior levels and weekly or daily as you move closer to the first line. These routine meetings should focus the effort on the most important activity to execute the strategy. People can identify unnecessary or unprosperous effort and eliminate that effort. In addition to creating focus, the rhythm will create a natural feedback mechanism. This ties with the next Do: ‘Continuously learn and adjust.’ Without an appropriate pace where you are using a method such as PDCA or OODA, adjustments may be too slow or infrequent, leading to increased cost and lost time.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Continuously learn and adjust:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             We may know where we are and where we want to go, but conditions do not always cooperate. We may need to change the planned route as conditions change. If we are consistently monitoring our actions and results, we can quickly learn and make adjustments that move us toward the goal.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ol&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           DON’T
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ol&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Accept mediocrity:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            If people are committed and accountable, they will not accept mediocre results, poor performance, or bad behavior.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
        
            Be afraid to recognize a bad plan and scrap it:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            People sometimes let their fear of reputational damage or the sunk cost fallacy lock them into a bad plan. Be honest with yourself and your team and make changes, as necessary.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ol&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            Yesterday, I had the privilege of returning to my alma mater, the

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           College of Computing at Georgia Tech
          &#xD;
    &lt;/a&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            , to speak with students about the real-world impact of AI and what it takes to lead transformation in this age of AI. See my insights below.
            &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        
            As a former TA, it was great to be back teaching in a building that didn’t even exist when I was a student. I showed my old CS homework assignments from 25 years ago that today could be solved in seconds by AI, and how my father programmed on punch cards at Tech. That sparked some great laughs… and even better questions.
            &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           for the invitation and for the thoughtful conversations about future collaborations. I had the chance to speak with students from two fantastic courses:
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           1. UI-Software Principles (HCI) — where they’re exploring natural user interfaces and building conversational agents, now with AI in the loop.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           2. Intro to Software Development &amp;amp; Engineering — where undergrads are learning not just how to code, but how to communicate and navigate complexity in real-world systems.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           My talk focused on AI adoption, business transformation, and the mindset shift required to succeed. The students were sharp, curious, and deeply engaged. We had some fantastic questions about how to bridge the gap between technical innovation and business value — and how to lead with a people centric strategy in the age of AI.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Key takeaway:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           AI is not just a tech shift — it’s a business transformation. And Georgia Tech is preparing the next generation of leaders to drive it.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           To the students: Stay curious. Stay grounded. And remember — the best technologists are the ones who understand people and problems, not just code.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Insight #1: AI is a general-purpose technology - like electricity or the internet - transforming industries at unprecedented scale.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Insight #2: AI is not just a tech shift - it's a business transformation.  Success requires aligning tools, data, culture, and leadership.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Insight #3: 70-80% of AI projects fail due to unclear objectives, poor data, and lack of readiness. Mindset and execution matter.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Insight #4: Building ethical AI that users trust is essential.  Responsible design and meeting users where they are is the foundation for sustainable AI adoption.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Insight #5: Technologists often focus on the bleeding-edge use cases, but real impact comes from helping everyday users adopt AI meaningfully at scale.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Insight #6: Tech is evolving fast - my father programmed on punch cards at Georgia Tech 55 years ago.  My CS homework from 25 years ago can be done in seconds by AI. Adaptability is now the most critical skill.
          &#xD;

           Insight #7: The most successful AI champions combine AI knowledge, business process expertise, and a growth mindset.  Don't focus only on tech.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

            Today I had the opportunity to catch up with my longtime friend and mentor
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/cliff-zapp-0564046a?trk=public_post_embed-text" target="_blank"&gt;&#xD;
      
           Cliff Zapp
          &#xD;
    &lt;/a&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            over a game of golf (which he easily won). Cliff has always had a passion for coaching whether it be sports teams or young professionals trying to navigate life and career. Cliff is one of those rare people you get to meet in life who challenges, encourages, coaches, and grows the people around him in a positive and constructive way.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            It struck me today &amp;lt;as Cliff was hitting out of the fairway and I was searching for my ball&amp;gt; just how significant an impact Cliff and several other mentors have had in my life.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            With that, I’d like to encourage you to establish at least one mentoring relationship – whether formal or informal – to grow yourself, to get honest feedback, and to help you navigate your career and life. 
           &#xD;

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

            The final key in the execution process is

           accountability from every member of the team

            – including yourself and other members of leadership. Start by setting up systems for action plans with well-defined measures and outcomes. Team members need to be able to effectively measure the results of their efforts as well as the activity that leads to the results.

            This documentation not only keeps the project on track but is also a learning tool for future projects.             As mentioned above, accountability plays a critical role in the execution process. It seems simple to hold yourself and your people accountable to results, but to be effective, it must be intentional and routine. You can do this by establishing a rhythm for accountability.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            First,
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           establish clear expectations, the appropriate success measures, and an environment where your team can communicate freely
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           . Start by creating a scorecard and review it routinely for each level of the organization. The meeting cadence should include daily stand-ups and weekly updates. Monthly and quarterly updates to different levels of leadership should be added as appropriate.  These routine meetings should focus the effort on the most important activity to execute the strategy. As a team, you can use this time to identify unnecessary or unprosperous efforts and eliminate it or reevaluate the path forward.   
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            These consistent check-ins will create a natural feedback mechanism. This feedback will allow you to continuously learn and adjust as the project moves forward. You may know where you are and where you want to go, but conditions do not always cooperate.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Don’t be afraid to recognize a bad plan and scrap it.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Sometimes, the fear of reputational damage can lock the whole team into a bad strategy. Be honest with yourself and your team and make changes as necessary. If you are consistently monitoring your actions and results, you can quickly learn and make adjustments that move your team toward the goal. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Above all,
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           don’t accept mediocrity
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            . If your team is committed and accountable, they will not accept mediocre results, poor performance, or bad behavior. Consistent communication will give your team the opportunity to express their questions, doubts, ideas, and passion about the project. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to have open and honest communication with your people through this process.

      <title>Is Your 2025 Strategy Truly "Strategic?"</title>

           It's the time of year when leadership teams meet to do strategic planning. Coffee is hot, energy is high, and whiteboard markers are flying fast across whiteboards all over the world.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Unfortunately, the outcome of many strategic planning sessions is a list of vague tasks that might have some semblance of prioritization.  As the business landscape and markets shift, that list of tasks will get re-prioritized or even rewritten as the year takes off, resulting in negative downstream impacts to other teams who constantly scramble to keep up with the "strategic whiplash."  Before you know it, employees are expending resources on the wrong activities, teams have lost alignment, and the company goals are missed.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The biggest reason companies experience this whiplash isn't because of their ability to create strategic plans, it's that their strategic plans aren't grounded on a "strategic foundation." A strategic foundation is the result of deep thought, reflection, and assessment of the choices your organization needs to make to bring the highest level of value to your employees, clients, and market.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           In other words, what are the 3-4 major initiatives you could take on this year that would have the maximum level of positive impact for your teams and ultimately for your clients. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           With, and only with, that strategic foundation can you start to build a plan of execution that includes:

            Organization of people, activities, and resources that will be required to achieve your goals.

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The creation of visible programs to ensure cross-team collaboration and feedback as teams engage on activity.
           &#xD;

    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Clear measurement and visibility of your teams achievement towards your goals.

            The creation of feedback loops to generate new ideas, and to continually improve the way you get there.
